The main views of Goverlan (the Network Browser and the object views) allow you to modify object settings by using in-place editing.
To modify the value of an object, select it and single click within the field to be edited or press the F2 key. This activates in-place editing of the field. Change the value within the field and press the Enter key or click outside of the edit field to validate the change. Under certain views, you can also activate in-place editing on a field using the context sensitive menu.
For instance, you can edit the user's Name, Pre-Win2K Name, Display Name, Office, Telephone and E-mail fields in the Users view. Let's change the account name of the user Lapointe Aegidius to Lapointe Magidius:

Select the user in the Users view.

Place the mouse cursor over the Name field of the user and right click on the mouse. Select the Rename option. Note: The context sensitive menu will display a Rename action for the Name and Pre-Win2K Name fields and an Edit action for the other editable fields of an object. You can also activate in-place editing on a field by single-clicking within it or by pressing the F2 key.

Modify the field string to the desired value.

Press the Enter key or click outside of the edit field to validate the change.
Note: You must use in-place editing to rename user and group accounts. Accessing the user or group account information window doesn't permit the account's Name or Pre-Win2K Name to be modified. Goverlan doesn't allow you to rename a computer's account.
You can still activate in-place editing for a non-modifiable fields such as the Created or Modified fields of active directory accounts. However, you will not be able to modify their values. This allows you to copy non-editable field values using CTRL+C.
The context sensitive menu of a non-modifiable fields will not display an Edit option, so you must single click within the field or press the F2 key in order to open it.
