Using the Select Computers feature

Many Goverlan features require one or more computer name. The Select target... window is displayed allowing you to type a single computer name or IP address.

Alternatively, you can click on the Advanced button to access other means of providing a machine list.

The Select Computers window offers a set of commands which allow you to add or import computer items to the list, remove computer items from the list and export the existing list of items to a file for later use.

Adding Items

To add an item, select one of the commands under the Adding Items section of the task panel. You can either add a single computer entry by typing its name, add computer accounts which belong to a domain or use the IP scanner to add computers from a desired IP segment (see IP Scanner).

You can also import a list of computer items by using the Import from File command under the Import/Export section. The import file must have one of the following two formats:

Each computer entry must represent the computer NetBIOS name, DNS name or IP address. However, UNC names (DOMNANME\MACNAME) cannot be imported.

The following hot keys are available

Removing Items

You can remove computer items from the list by using the commands available in the Removing Items section of the task panel. First, select all machine items to be removed. Then click on the Remove Selected Items link or press the DEL key.

Exporting Items

If you wish to export the currently configured list of computer items, click on the Export list to a file link in the task panel. Enter the path and the file name of the export file and then click on OK.
