Goverlan has a set of universal settings which can be distributed on a group of machines or to a domain. These universal settings apply to the Goverlan Console application and to the Goverlan Agents. This articles describes the different methods available to distribute these settings to a group of machines.
There are many ways that the Goverlan Universal Settings can be distributed to your machines. Depending on your needs and infrastructure, choose amongst the following:
Via Direct Registry Modification (for example, a login script or embedded into an installation package) | You can manually distribute the universal settings by directly modifying the registry of your client machines. | Refer to the Goverlan Universal Settings - Registry Settings article to view the registry settings specifications. |
Via a Group Policy Object | If you have an Active Directory infrastructure, you can distribute the Goverlan settings via a Group Policy Object. This allows for easy distribution and synchronization. | Refer to the Distributing Settings Using a Group Policy Object article for more information. |
Via a Goverlan Scope Action | If you own the Goverlan Remote Administration Suite, some settings can also be distributed via a Scope Action.
| Refer to the Distributing Settings Using a Scope Action article for more information. |
Via the Goverlan Client Agent Installer | Optionally, the Goverlan Agents can be distributed onto your client machines via the provided agent MSI package. If you use this agent distribution mechanism, you can ask the installer to also configure the client-side settings at the time of installation. | Refer to the Goverlan Client Agent Installer article for more information. |
Via the Goverlan Central Server | To distribute the Goverlan Universal Settings to every Goverlan module (applications & agents) globally and securely on a DNS Zone, you can use the Goverlan Central Server. The Goverlan Central Server is an optional component offered free of charge to our clients. It uses a DNS Service Location Record to securely distribute the Goverlan settings to all machines within a DNS Zone. | Contact our Support Department for more information about this feature. |
